Sparrow's Nest Superhero Rock 'N' Run Challenge and 5K
About the Event
Join us at the scenic Barton Orchards in Poughquag, for our in-person Superhero 5k. Whether you join the Challenge or you select the 5K, we all will gather together on May 30th on the trail course to complete 3.1 miles together. This is a fun walk/jog/run and will cover terrain that at times can be on gravel, pavement, and grass. We aren't looking for your best time, we are looking for you to have a good time.
Following the race join us for our Superhero Rock Fest! Enjoy the sounds of local bands, savor delicious food and drinks and keep the party going with Sparrow's Nest!
Race check-in begins at 8:00 am and the run begins promptly at 9 AM. All race registrants gain automatic entry into the Rock Fest.
Children under 5 are free for both the 5K and Rock Fest.
Don't want to break a sweat? Join us for the Rock Fest only, for $20! Concert check-in begins at 11am.
Join fellow runners on April 1, 2026 for the Sparrow's Nest Superhero Rock 'N' Run Challenge and 5K. It's a fantastic 48.3K, Ultra, 5K featuring a flat and fast course in Poughquag.

Titans 30-Mile Challenge includes the in-person 5K on May 30th.
Exclusively for our youngest Superheroes, kids 12 years of age and younger are invited to join our 30 Mile Challenge. Participants can start a team, join a team, or register as an individual and walk, run, hike, or bike 30 miles between April 1st and May 30th. That's just half a mile a day! Record your activity each day and watch your progress on our virtual course map from Sparrow's Nest Headquarters to All Sport and ending at Barton Orchards! You'll feel great about getting out and getting active and you'll be supporting our mission of cooking and delivering homemade meals to people facing cancer. Then, join us at Barton Orchards on May 30th for an in-person 3.1-mile run to finish your challenge. Your Teen Titan registration also includes entrance into our Rock Festival immediately following the run!
The Incredibles 60-Mile Challenge includes the in-person 5K on May 30th.
Feeling incredible? The Incredibles 60-mile Challenge kicks off on April 1st! Start a team, join a team, or register as an individual and walk, run, hike, or bike 60 miles between April 1st and May 30th. That's just 1 mile a day! Record your activity each day and watch your progress on our virtual course map as you visit our Captain America and Superman Sponsors! You'll feel great about getting out and getting active and you'll be supporting our mission of cooking and delivering homemade meals to people facing cancer. Then, join us at Barton Orchards on May 30th for an in-person 3.1-mile run to finish your challenge. Your Incredibles registration also includes entrance into our Rock Festival immediately following the run!
The Avenger 160-Mile Challenge includes the in-person 5K on May 30th.
Our Avenger 160-mile Challenge kicks off on April 1st! Start a team, join a team, or register as an individual and walk, run, hike, or bike 160 miles between April 1st and May 30th. That's 2.5 miles per day. Record your activity each day and watch your progress on our virtual course map – a 160-mile trek with stops at our Captain America, Superman and Wonder Woman sponsors along the way! You'll feel great about getting out and getting active and you'll be supporting our mission of cooking and delivering homemade meals to people facing cancer. Then, join us at Barton Orchards on May 30th for an in-person 3.1-mile run to finish your challenge. Your Avenger registration also includes entrance into our Rock Festival immediately following the run!
The Superman 270-Mile Challenge includes the in-person 5K on May 30th.
Have you ever wondered where our Sparrow’s Nest delivery van travels each week? Want to be a Super Sparrow? Join our Superman Challenge and walk, run, hike or bike 270 miles between April 1st and May 30th. That's 4.5 miles per day! Record your activity each day and watch your progress on our virtual course map - a 270-mile adventure in which you'll visit our Captain America, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Incredibles sponsors along the way! You'll feel great about getting out and getting active and you'll be supporting our mission of cooking and delivering homemade meals to people facing cancer. Then, join us at Barton Orchards on May 30th for an in-person 3.1-mile run to finish your challenge. The Justice League 500-Mile BIKE ONLY Challenge includes the in-person 5K on May 30th
Our Justice League 500 Mile Bike‑Only Challenge kicks off on April 1st! Start a team, join a team, or register as an individual and bike 500 miles between April 1st and May 30th. That’s about 8.3 miles per day—a true test of endurance worthy of the Justice League. Track your rides daily and watch your progress unfold on our virtual 500‑mile course map. Every mile you ride helps power our mission of cooking and delivering homemade meals to people facing cancer, so your impact goes far beyond the bike. Finish strong by joining us at Barton Orchards on May 30th to celebrate your achievement at the in-person 5K run/walk. The Tron 1,000-Mile BIKE ONLY Challenge includes the in-person 5K on May 30th.
Our Tron 1,000 Mile Bike‑Only Challenge kicks off on April 1st and is built for riders ready to go all in. Start a team, join a team, or register as an individual and bike 1,000 miles between April 1st and May 30th. That’s about 16.6 miles per day—a bold, elite challenge designed for our most dedicated superheroes. Log your rides daily and watch your journey come to life on our virtual 1,000‑mile course map. Every mile you ride fuels our mission of cooking and delivering homemade meals to people facing cancer, turning your endurance into meaningful, life‑changing support. Celebrate your incredible accomplishment with us at Barton Orchards on May 30th, where all superheroes come together to run or walk their final 3.1 miles. Your Tron registration also includes entrance into our Rock Festival, immediately following the celebration—because conquering 1,000 miles deserves a legendary finish.
Sparrow's Nest Superhero 5K
The Sparrow's Nest Superhero 5K will take place back at the beautiful Barton Orchards in Poughquag. Gather your superheroes and create a team! Walk or Run your 3.1 miles on May 31st.
