About this race
Our Steps for Hope, Strides for Mental Health event in partnership with Bates College takes place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, on the Bates campus. The event features a 5K Walk/Run and Kids Obstacle Course. All funds raised through this event will support the expansion of behavioral (mental) health programs at St. Mary’s. Every participant, donor and sponsor grow access to services for people across Maine who require hospitalization because of serious mental illness.
Join fellow runners on October 15, 2023 for the St. Mary's Steps for Hope 5K Run/Walk and Kids Obstacle Course. It's a fantastic 5K, 2.9K featuring a flat and fast course in Lewiston.

Commit to Get Fit 5K
Whether you are a casual walker or a serious runner, 5K participants will enjoy the loop route along and across the beautiful Androscoggin River. Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome! Participants will warm up and stretch with a St. Mary's Orthopedics trainer. The 5K will start promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Walking
Harvest Walk
Lewiston is alive with beauty and culture! Enjoy a 1.5 to 1.8-mile walking route around Kennedy Park and back to Simard Payne Memorial Park. Maps will be provided. This is a free event limited to 200 participants!
