2018 - Waldwick Chamber of Commerce 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk

5K Run

Important Information 3/22/18 Please note: As a result of a major ongoing street project on West Prospect Street, the Race Director has decided to re-route a leg of the 5K course for the safety of our participants. The course will be slightly altered and re-certified by USATF in time for our event. The change will take place at approximately Mile 2.25 as runners proceed west bound on to Lindbergh Parkway. There will be a turnaround located at the top of Lindbergh Parkway. Runners will then proceed east bound back down Lindbergh Parkway to Lakeview Drive and on to West Prospect St. thereby removing a portion of Brady and West Prospect streets from the 5K course. The race will now finish parallel to the "12" yard line at the high school track and field. All other segments of the course will remain the same. The new course map will be posted shortly on the Waldwick5k.com website. USATF members are eligible for a $3 per entry discount. Strollers, pets, bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, or razor boards will "not" be permitted during the 5K Race. No pets are not allowed on the Waldwick High School Track and Field facility. Walkers are welcomed to "speed walk" the 5K Run provided they complete the walk in less then 53 minutes (17 minute mile pace). You must also start the race in the back of the runners. Team Race Competition. "Create a 5K Team here." Limited to Run signup online registrations only. Minimum 5 runners per team no maximum. To ensure fairness, the scoring will be based on an Age Grade % system. The top 3 runners best age graded % averaged 'times combined " will determine the winning team. There will also be a special award given to the 1st Place Military & 1st Place First Responder finishers based on the Age Grade % scoring system. To be eligible for the Military award , you must be on active duty, retired or a veteran and be registered on Runsignup. To be eligible for the First Responder award you must be Active or Retired Police, Fire, or EMT worker and be registered on Runsignup. You must enter your correct age during registration to be eligible for the award.. A special 'Team Spirit" award will be given to the team that registers the most participants. 1 Mile Walk

Strollers will be permitted for 1 Mile Walk. Pets, bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, or razor boards will "not" be permitted during the walk.
