5K Run
Come out and enjoy a Cinco de Mayo themed celebration featuring our spirited 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk. Special prizes awarded to the top three best Cinco de Mayo themed costumes. USATF members are eligible for a $3 per entry discount. Strollers, pets, bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, or razor boards will "not" be permitted during the 5K Race. No pets are allowed on the Waldwick High School Track and Field facility. Walkers are welcomed to "speed walk" the 5K Run provided they complete the walk in less then 53 minutes (17 minute mile pace). You must also start the race in the back of the runners. Team Race Competition. "Create a 5K Team here." Limited to Run signup online registrations only. Minimum 4 runners per team no maximum. To ensure fairness, the scoring will be based on an Age Grade % system. The top 3 runners best age graded % averaged 'times combined " will determine the winning team. . A special 'Team Spirit" award will be given to the team that registers the most participants. Names must be entered on the group/team page of Run Signup to be eligible for the ward. Pre Race packet pickup May 4th 3:30pm -5:30pm Waldwick Ambulance Corps 20 Whites Lane Waldwick, NJ 07463 Parking is available at the Waldwick High School parking lot, Waldwick Middle School lot, Village School and Forum School lots. All parking lots are within a few minutes walk to the registration area. If you live nearby we suggest you walk to the event. A bag check is available . There will be no street parking along the 5K course. Due to the safety of the runners, walkers & volunteers the streets along the 5K course and 1 Mile Walk course will begin closing at 8:00am and will reopen around 10:00am.
B2W5K (Beginner to Waldwick 5K ) Training program
We are pleased to announce the ever popular B2W5K training program will once again be offered . This 8 week training program will be taught by Dennis Gordon, RRCA certified long distance running coach. Classes will be held at the Waldwick HS Track at 7:00pm - 8:00pm Our B2W5K kickoff meeting will take place on March 4th at Fit 36 in Waldwick. Class size will be held at 25. Don't hesitate this class sells out quickly.
Walking
1 Mile Walk
Strollers will be permitted for 1 Mile Walk. Pets, bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, or razor boards will "not" be allowed during the walk. Strollers are not be permitted on the high school track
