10K Trail Run
10K Trail Race at CSU Channel Islands at 7:00am **PLEASE NOTE: This is a chip-timed competitive hybrid Trail Race. All registrants should be able to finish the course in 75 minutes for safety reasons. Approximately 1/2 of the course is on dirt, gravel and sandy trails, and the other 1/2 on nicely paved roads. Those still on the course after that time may not receive an official finishing time, be asked to move to the shoulder, or picked up and transported to the finish line for safety reasons. All races start in the Central Mall area and end in the South Quad at the University. Due to ongoing campus construction, the route may change. Runners with jogging strollers must start in back. Please NO DOGS and no unregistered pacers allowed. Please choose the 15K "Hero Run" option if you want to do BOTH the 10K at 7:00am and then the 5K race at 8:30am. All finishers will receive a custom puzzle-shaped race medal and event t-shirt. Tech shirts and hats will be available for purchase at the race in limited supplies. Rain does not cancel, but may alter the course to avoid the trails, for safety considerations.
Running
5K Run/Walk
Competitive Runners will begin at the start of the chip-timed race. Walkers are encouraged to register and must be able to finish the course in 1 hour. Those still on the course after that time may not receive an official finishing time, be asked to move to the shoulder, or picked up and transported to the finish line for safety reasons. All races start in the Central Mall area and end in the South Quad at the University. Due to ongoing campus construction, the route may change. All children on course must be registered for the event and closely supervised by an adult at all times. Children in strollers do not need to be registered to participate, but all others on the course must be registered. Sturdy strollers OK but must start in the last race wave. Runners with jogging strollers must start in back. Please NO DOGS and no unregistered pacers allowed. All registered finishers will receive a custom puzzle-shaped race medal and event t-shirt. Running fabric ("Tech") shirts and hats will be available for purchase at the race in limited supplies. Info on Virtual Run Option If you have a loved one who has not been able to attend the event due to sensory challenges triggered by large crowds or noise, or because they live too far away, sign them up for our Virtual Race option. They can participate at home and we'll mail them a finisher's medal after the race. Or, with their written permission, you can pick it up at the Aut2Run to give to them when you get home.
15K "Hero Run" - Both 10K+5K
NOTE: Only sign up for this option if you want to do BOTH races - the 10K Trail Race at 7:00am, then 5K Run/Walk at 8:30am. This is not a continuous distance - this is part of the challenge of this race. Runners must wait for the start of the 5K at 8:30am. Runners registering for this option should be able to complete the 10K Trail Run in under 75 minutes to prepare for the 5K race (this is a 12 minute/mile pace). Those still on the course after that time may not receive an official finishing time, be asked to move to the shoulder, or picked up and transported to the finish line for safety reasons. All races start in the Central Mall area and end in the South Quad at the University. Due to ongoing campus construction, the route may change. All 15K "Hero Run" finishers will receive a specialized Hero cape for their medal after finishing the 5K. All finishers will receive 1 custom puzzle-shaped race medal and event t-shirt. Tech shirts and hats will be available for purchase at the race in limited supplies. Rain does not cancel, but may alter the course to avoid trails, for safety considerations. Runners with jogging strollers must start in back. Please NO DOGS and no unregistered pacers allowed.
Fun K (for kids under 12, adults with special needs and their caregivers)
Children, kids/adults on the Autism Spectrum and their families will have fun on this short course. Walkers are strongly encouraged to participate in the 5K event (3.1 miles) as the Fun-K event is targeted for small children and adults with special needs. NOTE: The race start time is approximate and will depend on the completion of the 5K event time. Please arrive early and visit with the booths and Kid Zone. If you are going to be walking in the Fun-K to support someone, you do not need to register; however, only registered finishers will receive the official race medal and event t-shirt. The entire Fun-K course is visible from the main event area.
Virtual Hero
Can't be at our race in person due to another commitment, living far away or because of sensory challenges posed by large crowds? Still want to register and join a team? Choose this option if you want to support ASVC, your friends/relatives and walk with us in spirit that day or week at home. We will mail your finisher's medal and shirt to you prior to the Aut2Run event.
911 Run (First Responders)
The 911 Run is a FREE registration category exclusively for Emergency First Responders (Police/Sheriff, Fire, and EMTs) who live or work in Ventura County. At registration, you will choose between the 5K, 10K Trail Race, or the 15K Hero Run. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RACE AS PART OF THE OTHER EVENTS. **Before registering online, please make sure you have the registration code provided by ASVC over email to your division in order to complete your FREE registration, limited to the first 50 registrants. You can also contact Corina Lozano at VCSD for the code. Thank you for ALL that you do to keep our community safe!
