Miwok 100K
The Miwok 100K is one of the most beautiful and iconic trail ultramarathons in the world. The course is hilly (11,800 feet of gain) but runnable, with spectacular views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Mount Tamalpais, the ancient redwoods and the Point Reyes National Seashore. The course features single-track trails and dirt roads with about a mile of paved road. The race is competitive at the front, and a rewarding challenge for all. Less than an hour from San Francisco, the Start/Finish is in the town of beautiful Stinson Beach, nestled against Mount Tamalpais, with its excellent cafés, a small market, lodging, and more. Course marking is excellent, and you’ll be supported by some of the best volunteers on a race course anywhere. We hire professional medical for all aid stations for those occasional skinned knees and such. Our 2024 runners will receive a custom Miwok 100K finisher’s medal and a beautiful cozy Miwok 100K beanie and fanny pack.
Miwok 100k plus 18 week Training Plan
We are excited to offer a 18-Week Training Plan for the 2024 Miwok 100K, created by 2008 US Olympian & 2015 Western States 100 Champion, Magda Boulet. Our goal is to offer you tips and tools related to training and racing, and the Miwok 100K course. The Training Plan begins the first week in January 2024. Participants will receive an email from Coach Magda with a detailed training plan every 4 weeks, with options for novice and intermediate ultrarunners. Experienced ultrarunners can register for the Training Plan, too, for some fun workout ideas. And 100% of the revenue from the training plan purchase will support our Diversity Initiative including the wonderful non-profit Running For A Better Oakland who strive to build a tolerant, healthy, and prosperous community through the discipline and rigor of a structured running program. If "Miwok plus Training Plan" displays as full, please sign up for the Miwok 100K above, and we'll send you a link next week to sign up for the Training Plan.
Miwok 100K Relay - 11 Teams of 4 runners
NEW in 2024 - A fun option to participate in the Miwok 100K by forming a 4-person Relay team who covers the same 100K course! This is a great option for those who don’t want to or can't race the entire distance and are looking for a fun way to participate in all the action. Same course, same day, same time, but in fun size segments of approximately 26, 9.5, 14 and 13 miles. The first leg of the relay begins at the start line, heading south all the way to Bridge View and back to Tennessee Valley for the second time. It’s the longest leg of the relay at 26 miles long. Leg #2 takes off from Tennessee Valley and heads North up Mt. Tam to Cardiac. It’s the shortest leg at only 9.5 miles, but the climbing more than makes up for the lack of distance. Leg #3 takes over at Cardiac and traverses the beautiful Coastal Trail and ends at the Randall aid station for a cool 14 miles. The anchor leg takes it home from Randall back to Stinson Beach and is 13 miles long.
