SVR Winter Series #1 Museum of the Shenandoah Valley 5k

Race #1 of this year’s Winter Series will be occur from January 18th to the 24th at the new trails at The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV). This is an out and back 5k course that starts at the new MSV lot next to James Wood Middle School. This lot and the trails are open 7 days a week from 7am until dusk. It is likely you will encounter other visitors on your run. Please be considerate of others and wear a mask if not able to maintain 6ft of distance. SVR signage is posted at the start and the turn around. The turn around is on the temporary access road that connects to the main MSV parking lot. Run the course as many times as you wish. SVR Winter Series #2 - Stickman's Tandems 5K

New course starting at Strasburg Park, out and back to Strasburg High School via the River Walk path. The race will be open to virtual runners from Feb. 1 to Feb 7. The gates may be closed but you will be able to bypass them while running. The course is mostly flat with a slight downhill at the start and turnaround and a slight uphill before the turnaround and to the finish. The start/finish line is located on E. Queen Street, just east of the park (basically adjacent to the stop sign, just 50 feet or so past the park) and marked with white line along with an S and F painted on the road. The turnaround is at the top of the hill at the stop sign where Ram Dr. intersects with Holliday St. Turn at the end of the double yellow line. There will be NO tandem scoring this year but you are welcome to run with a partner! Please observe social distancing and any other CDC guidelines that may be applicable at the time of your run. SVR Winter Series #3- Middletown Heart & Soles 5k

We hope everyone is enjoying the Winter Series races and have race #3 set. The Middletown Heart & Soles 5k will be virtual this year but we hope you can run it. This course is the same course you have run in the past and you can run it anytime between February 15th-21st. Parking at the Town Hall you will want to find the start line marked with chalk and a sign just south of the Town Hall on Church street. Head north on Church and take a left on 2nd Street (crossing Main watch for traffic) down the hill to a right on Senseny and one block to a left on Chapel Road/1st Street. Follow Chapel Road just past the mile mark to a left on Veterans Road. You will follow Veterans all the away around and back up hill to 5th Street (crossing Main again) were you will take a final left back onto Church Street passing the start line and finishing at the Town Hall. This is an open road course so please pay attention and run safe. Please observe social distancing and any other CDC guidelines that may be applicable at the time of your run. Have fun and good luck! SVR Winter Series #1 - South Berkeley Christmas 5K

Your registration into the full winter series includes registration for the South Berkeley 5K. Although this race is not directly organized by SVR we're thrilled to team up with organizers and incorporate it again into the Winter Series. SVR will be there before the race to help with registration and hand out swag. This race starts at 2pm but arrive early to navigate road closures, parking, and registration. SVR Winter Series #2 - Jingle Bell 5K @ Blandy Farm

Join us for what is often the biggest race of the Winter Series. Tie bells on your shoes, dress in your finest holiday sweater and get your ho-ho-ho on as you circle the grounds of the Virginia State Arboretum. This is a loop course on wide gravel roads with just enough rolling hills to make it exciting. SVR and this race is managed 100% by volunteers. Please consider volunteering to help. Volunteers are needed before, during and after the race.
