This year we are Moving Hope Forward Together to raise critical funds for sarcoma research while amplifying awareness for this rare and challenging cancer. Every dollar supports innovative research across North Carolina advancing treatments and improving outcomes for patients locally and globally.
The Sarcoma Stomp is more than a fundraiser—it’s a day of hope and community! Enjoy a 5K Run/3K Walk through South Charlotte, followed by games, face painting, music, team tents, and an afterparty festival with food and drinks from Legion Brewing.
Whether you’re running, walking, fundraising, or cheering, your participation helps make a difference. Together, let’s take steps toward a cure!

WEATHERThe Sarcoma Stomp is held rain or shine. However, safety is always our #1 priority. In the event of any severe weather on April 11th, Go Ahead Event Management will communicate with participants regarding any race delay or cancellation. Please make sure your registration includes a valid email address and cell phone number so that you can be properly contacted should severe weather be an issue on race day.

5K Run
The 5K Run begins at 8:30am. Scroll down to view a course description and a link to a course map. Shortly after the race finishes, results will be available on the Queen City Timing app! Download it for free onto your smartphone prior to the race! Then pull out your phone only 2 minutes after you cross the finish line and input your bib number into the app to see your time! So cool! Awards are given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. Age group awards will also be given to the top 3 male/female finishers in the following categories: 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, and 65+. THESE AGE GROUP AWARDS (AGE 20-29 THROUGH 65+ ) WILL BE A FREE ONE-HOUR MASSAGE AT MASSAGE ENVY SPAS (15 CHARLOTTE AREA LOCATIONS, INCLUDING ROCK HILL)!!!!!!! THE AGE GROUP AWARDS FOR AGES 14-AND-UNDER AND 15-19 WILL BE AWESOME TOO!! STAY TUNED!!! The awards ceremony will commence as soon as the timing company tabulates the category winners after the finish of the 5K. REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY, OR START/JOIN A TEAM! WE LOVE TEAM SPIRIT AT THE SARCOMA STOMP!! Remember, teams may consist of runners, walkers, and cheering crew. It's totally up to you! Please, no baby joggers or strollers are allowed during the 5K race in accordance with our event insurance policy, and for the safety of our participants. The race will be timed using the ChronoTrack chip system which is attached to your race bib. You may receive your race bib either at TrySports packet pickup or at Event Day Registration/Check-in. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RACE BIB WITH A CHIP ATTACHED (WALKERS HAVE BIBS WITH NO CHIPS ATTACHED). MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR BIB PINNED ON BEFORE CROSSING THE START LINE MAT OR YOU WILL NOT BE TIMED. DO NOT SWAP BIBS WITH OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS/FRIENDS OR YOUR NAME AND RACE FINISH TIME WILL BE PLACED IN THE WRONG AGE CATEGORY. This will delay our ability to start the awards ceremony promptly.
Cheering Crew
Join the Cheering Crew if you do not wish to participate in the 5K Run or 3K Walk, but would still like to come out and cheer! You can also start or join a team as a Cheering Crew participant! Remember, teams may consist of runners, walkers, and cheering crew participants. It is totally up to you! Register and you'll receive a Sarcoma Stomp event shirt that you can wear while making some noise for the runners and walkers crossing the finish line! IN FACT, PLEASE CONSIDER VISITING THE VOLUNTEER TAB ABOVE AND SIGNING UP TO BE A RACE COURSE CHEER/MONITOR VOLUNTEER!
Walking
3K Walk
The 3K Walk begins at 8:00am and is not timed. Walkers do receive a race bib, but the bib DOES NOT HAVE A TIMING CHIP ATTACHED. Register individually or start/join a team! Remember that teams may consist of runners, walkers, and cheering crew! It is totally up to you! Wear a creative costume and show us your Sarcoma Stomp spirit! We had over 34 teams at our last Sarcoma Stomp!! Wow!!! Keep it growing!! Baby joggers and strollers may be used during the 3K Walk.
