About this race
This year we are Moving Hope Forward Together to raise critical funds for sarcoma research while amplifying awareness for this rare and challenging cancer. Every dollar supports innovative research across North Carolina advancing treatments and improving outcomes for patients locally and globally.
The Sarcoma Stomp is more than a fundraiser—it’s a day of hope and community! Enjoy a 5K Run/3K Walk through South Charlotte, followed by games, face painting, music, team tents, and an afterparty festival with food and drinks from Legion Brewing.
Whether you’re running, walking, fundraising, or cheering, your participation helps make a difference. Together, let’s take steps toward a cure!

WEATHERThe Sarcoma Stomp is held rain or shine. However, safety is always our #1 priority. In the event of any severe weather on April 11th, Go Ahead Event Management will communicate with participants regarding any race delay or cancellation. Please make sure your registration includes a valid email address and cell phone number so that you can be properly contacted should severe weather be an issue on race day.

5K Run (CLOSED)
The Sarcoma Stomp 5K will take participants on a loop course through the beautiful neighborhoods of Mammoth Oaks and Landsdowne. The course has some rolling hills and makes for a great training opportunity! Prizes are awarded to top overall finishers and age categories. Participants pushing baby joggers will start at the back of the 5K for the safety of all participants. Register individually or start/join a team! Remember that teams may consist of runners, walkers, cheering crew, and virtual stompers! It is totally up to you! Wear a creative costume or team shirt, and show us your Sarcoma Stomp spirit! We had 67 teams at our last Sarcoma Stomp!! If you would like to design and purchase custom team shirts, visit the "Custom Team Shirts" tab. Start2Finish Event Management and Timing offers an unparalleled participant experience. Using the industry-leading MyLaps Timing Systems and RacesOnline Results Platform, Start 2 Finish is working on your results from the moment you cross the finish line. Head to the results tent to view your live results on TV screens or type in your bib number on the touch screen kiosks and print out a receipt of your race statistics. Later relish in your success by watching your own personal video finish line clip and then print a Personalized Results Certificate for everyone to see.
3K Walk (CLOSED)
The Sarcoma Stomp 3K Walk takes our participants through the beautiful Mammoth Oaks neighborhood. The 3K Walk is not timed. Walkers do receive a custom race bib, but the bib DOES NOT HAVE A TIMING CHIP ATTACHED TO THE BACK SIDE. Register individually or start/join a team! Remember that teams may consist of runners, walkers, cheering crew, and virtual stompers! It is totally up to you! Wear a creative costume and show us your Sarcoma Stomp spirit! We had 67 teams at our last Sarcoma Stomp!! NEW: If you would like to design and purchase custom team shirts, you may visit the "Custom Team Shirts" tab after registration checkout!
Cheering Crew (CLOSED)
Register as the Cheering Crew if you do not wish to participate in the 5K Run or 3K Walk, but would still like to come out to the Sarcoma Stomp and join the excitement of the day! Cheering Crew participants do get an event shirt. You can also start or join a team as a Cheering Crew participant! Remember, teams may consist of runners, walkers, cheering crew and virtual stompers. It is totally up to you! If you would like to design and purchase custom team shirts, you may visit the "Custom Team Shirts" tab after registration checkout!
STOMP AT HOME FOR FREE
Stand up and be counted in our Virtual Sarcoma Stomp, including joining your favorite team! We won't be mailing/distributing any event shirts this year for safety reasons, so just wear your previous Stomp shirt, your team shirt, or any other shirt that makes you smile when you go for your walk/run of choice. We will email everyone with information they can use to engage with our virtual Sarcoma Stomp - before, during and after the April 25th event. After all, we won't quarantine HOPE!
