11th Annual "Remember the Fallen" 5K Memorial Run
This event is family friendly, open to all skill levels, and welcomes runners, walkers, athletes and supporters. It is a flat, fast, loop course with displays of fire trucks, police and military vehicles throughout. There will also be a post-run celebration on-site, performances from a pipes and drums band, and the awards ceremony. Awards will be given to the first male and female in the following categories: Overall, Youth Overall (14 & under), Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), Senior Grand Masters (60+), and Veteran Grand Masters (70+). Awards three deep will be given in age groups 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19 then 5-year increments, 75-79 and 80 & older.
Firefighter RELAY TEAM
For Fire Fighters only, gather your team of three and, in FULL GEAR, each team member runs one leg (about 1 mile each) of the 5K. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given to the three fastest relay teams Relay Team participants will recognized and receive a special memento. During registration for the Firefighter Relay Team you can join the team your teammate has set up and shared with you. OR Create a team, set the team name and password, register yourself, then let your fellow firefighters know to register for your team. Note: Although it may be easier, all three team members need not register at the same time. Just be sure to share the team name and password so your team members get signed up for the right team!
Individual - Hometown Hero Challenge
For Fire Officers, Fire Fighters, EMTs, Paramedics, Law Enforcement and Military who choose to represent their service and run in their respective service's gear. Hometown Heroes will compete for 5K awards in the appropriate age group but all those registering in the Hometown Hero Challenge and running in their gear will be presented a special commemorative Challenge Coin and recognized during the awards ceremony.
Remember the Fallen Virtual 5K
Run Virtually Anywhere and Virtually Anytime from September 10th to September 25th to remember, honor and support the first responders and members of the armed services who protect and serve our community and country every day.
