About this race
Get your little athletes ready for their sports through cardio, resistance, balance, agility and plyometric training, along with core work. Through running, they will build endurance, speed and strength to improve performance and reduce injury in athletics, as well as everyday activities. They would not know they are working hard because they would be having too much fun!

On Mondays and Tuesdays, only for students of Buena Vista Elementary School. Registration at Homeroom: https://www.homeroom.com/sites/buena-vista-elementary-walnut-creek/enrichment We warm up, do some drills, run laps and play games. The goal is to nurture the joy for running, improve our aerobic capacity and gain some speed along the way. Minimum 12 participants to run. We celebrate the end of every practice with an otter pop. Winter Trail Run Club | January | Grades 2-8
January (7 sessions) cross country run club for your youth athletes based at the Shell Ridge Open Space near Indian Valley Elementary School. Time & Day: 4:00pm - 5:00pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays January (1/9, 1/11, 1/16, 1/18, 1/23, 1/25, 1/30) Minimum 12 participants to run. We celebrate the end of every practice with an otter pop. We warm up, do some drills, run laps and play games. The goal is to nurture the joy for running, improve our aerobic capacity and gain some speed along the way. Time & Day: 2:50pm - 3:50pm, Wednesdays (optional add-on for Parkmead students for gap between 2:30pm - 2:50pm) Dates: 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31 Minimum 12 participants to run. We will warm up, run and do a bunch of exercises for about 30min, then play some games until 45min is up. Pick up is at the same place at 9.45am. Wear running shoes and bring a water bottle. Hats and sunscreen are highly encouraged. Sign up is free and limited to 12. Please make sure this is something your child is willing to do in the heat and sun before signing them up. No shows will not be able to sign up again.

Summer Run Club
Great for athletes going into 4th - 8th grade in 2024/2025 who are preparing for Fall sports, and ready to put in the work. One day a week, we go for a longer run on the trails after a warm up, core and strength work. On the other day, we will work on speed and agility at the track. The goal is to nurture the joy for the trails and running, improve our aerobic capacity and gain some speed along the way. We complete a mile time trial at the first and last session. Information email will be sent a week before the start. Location: TBD Time & Day: 8:00am - 9:00am, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 session: 7/9, 7/11, 7/16, 7/18, 7/23, 7/25, 7/30, 8/1, 8/6, 8/8 Minimum 12 participants to run.
