Walnut Creek Run Club
About this race
Get your little athletes ready for their sports through cardio, resistance, balance, agility and plyometric training, along with core work. Through running, they will build endurance, speed and strength to improve performance and reduce injury in athletics, as well as everyday activities. They would not know they are working hard because they would be having too much fun!

Winter Trail Run Club | January | Grades 3-8
January (8 sessions) run club for your youth athletes based at the Shell Ridge Open Space near Indian Valley Elementary School. Alternate locations will be used if the trails are not suitable for use. Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00pm - 5:15pm Some Sundays 9:00am -10:30am Optional long runs and races January 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30 Minimum 12 participants to run. We celebrate the end of every practice with an otter pop. Motivated 1st and 2nd graders might be considered, send us an email. Details subject to change.

Spring Trail Run Club | April - May | Grades 3-8
6-week Session in April and May (12 sessions) run club for your youth athletes based at the Shell Ridge Open Space near Indian Valley Elementary School. Alternate locations will be used if the trails are not suitable for use. Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30pm - 5:30pm April 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 May 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 Minimum 12 participants to run. We celebrate the end of every practice with an otter pop. Motivated 1st and 2nd graders might be considered, send us an email. Details subject to change.
Summer Run Club (Clayton) | Grades 4-9
You will receive more information via email on 6/13 before the start. Registration fees (minus processing fees) will be refunded if we do not meet the minimum of 6 participants by then. Practice will be held on the Regency Trailhead (between Mountaire Parkway and Regency Drive) in Clayton, CA with Coach Glenda. Communication will be via TeamSnap. 10 practices: 9am - 10am every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6/17 to 7/17. Note: - athletes should be able to run continuously for 1 mile - for those going into grades 4-9 in 2025/2026 - minimum 6 to run, maximum 12 This small group program will focus on building a strong running base paired with strength training. Having a small group will allow the coach to understand every individual's strengths and areas of growth while having fun and getting familiar with the trails. A great way to get ready for cross country in the fall on beautiful trails. Details subject to change.
July/August (Walnut Creek) Run Club
You will receive more information via email on 7/1 before the start. Registration fees (minus processing fees) will be refunded if we do not meet the minimum of 6 participants by then. Great for athletes going into 4th - 9th grade in 2025/2026 who are preparing for Fall sports, and ready to put in some work in the summer. Beginners who are committed are welcome. 8 practices: 9am - 10am, Monday and Thursday, 7/7 to 8/7 (no practice 7/17, 7/21) at Walden Park (2698 Oak Rd, Walnut Creek, CA 94597). The session will build upon the work we put in though June, with a focus to add mileage. There will be basic weight lifting, agility ladder drills, plyometric and running up to 3 mile. Minimum 6 participants to run, maximum 12. Details subject to change.
